Position: Virtual Tutor
Location: 100% Remote (United States)
Compensation: $20 per hour
Key Responsibilities
As a Virtual Tutor with LearnWell, you’ll work closely with students who need academic assistance during their time in behavioral health treatment facilities. Your role is crucial in helping students stay on track with their studies and continue progressing toward their educational goals.
Core Responsibilities Include:
1. Virtual Tutoring:
o Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to K-12 students, focusing on high school-level math and science.
o Utilize online platforms to engage students, explain concepts, and guide them through their assignments, ensuring clarity and understanding.
2. Educational Guidance:
o Support students academically by developing individualized learning plans tailored to their needs.
o Use your teaching expertise to help students grasp difficult concepts, manage their workload, and stay focused on their academic goals.
o Monitor student progress, providing timely feedback to both the students and their families or school representatives.
3. Flexible Work Hours:
o Work Monday to Friday with flexible hours depending on demand, particularly from November through early June. This allows for a balance between personal life and professional duties.
o Adapt to student schedules and facility timelines, ensuring students receive the help they need when they need it most.
4. Administrative Duties:
o Perform administrative tasks related to the tutoring sessions, including tracking student attendance, maintaining records, and updating student progress reports.
o Administrative duties will be compensated separately, so the time spent organizing and maintaining session records is acknowledged and paid.
Qualifications
To ensure the highest quality of education for the students in our care, we are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
1. Education:
o A Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited college or university, with a focus on education or a related field.
2. Teaching Certification:
o A valid state teaching license is required to be eligible for this position. This ensures that you are qualified to provide the best instruction possible to our students.
3. Experience:
o Previous experience teaching K-12 students is essential, with a strong preference for educators with expertise in math and science subjects.
o Comfortable working with students across a variety of grade levels and subject areas, particularly in high school.
4. Technical Skills:
o Reliable access to a stable internet connection, as well as a suitable home office or workspace conducive to remote learning.
