About the Role

As a Social Worker or Experienced Social Worker with Wirral Council, you will have a unique opportunity to develop essential skills in areas such as child protection and supporting children in need. Main Duties for Experienced Social Worker

As an Experienced Social Worker, you will take on a range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families. Some of your key duties will include:

Ensuring that children are safe and achieving positive outcomes through the services provided.
Offering professional information, assessment, and support to help children, young people, and families access services that minimize risks and improve their quality of life.
Collaborating with internal and external partners to gather information essential for assessment and reviewing care planning activities.
Accurately recording and critically analyzing information, adhering to organizational policies, and ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are met.
Carrying out statutory duties related to safeguarding concerns and contributing to the work of multi-agency teams to deliver seamless services to children and families with complex needs.

Qualifications (Experienced Social Worker)

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Social Work qualification: A Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent.
Registration: You must be registered with Social Care England and able to provide evidence of this.
Professional Development: Evidence of continuous professional development in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF).

Additionally, you should demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, and have a solid understanding of UK legislation relevant to children and families.

Main Duties for Social Worker

Professional Development: Must provide evidence of continuing professional development in line with the PCF and be prepared to undertake the practice educator award if required.

You should also demonstrate an understanding of the core principles of social work and have the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people, including families and professionals.

Knowledge & Skills (Both Roles)

Both Social Workers and Experienced Social Workers should demonstrate the following knowledge and skills:

Strong knowledge of legislation relevant to children and families.
An understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-agency team.
Strong assessment and interviewing skills.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workloads.
A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
The ability to work with children, young people, and families with sensitivity to their cultural identity and heritage.

Experience (Both Roles)

Candidates should have relevant experience working with children, young people, and families. Experience in assessment, care planning, and collaborating with partner agencies in a professional capacity is essential.
